Core feature data use
MailAuth Inspector runs inside the user’s browser and interacts with Gmail to identify the
relevant message card, fetch the related “Show original” content, and extract SPF, DKIM,
and DMARC results for display in the Gmail interface.
Configuration data
The extension stores user configuration in browser storage. Configuration may include
dashboard preferences, rule toggles, theme choices, Google Sheets destination details, and
settings related to billing mode or product access.
Local runtime storage
Optional workflows can store queue items, duplicate-prevention data, usage information, billing
status, and a stable account identifier in browser storage. Queue items may include contact or
message-related workflow data, score and priority information, retry status, and error details.
Optional Google Sheets sync
If the user enables Google Sheets integration, MailAuth Inspector can append rows to a sheet
selected by the user. Those rows can include sender email, sender domain, Gmail thread and
message identifiers, auth results, alignment and policy values, spoof-risk details, and
workflow status fields.
Billing-related processing
If the user accesses paid features, MailAuth Inspector can communicate with billing and
subscription services through secure online checkout pages. The extension stores billing status
and access information locally. Full payment card details are handled by the payment provider,
not by the extension itself.
Third-party services
- Google Gmail and related Google services for extension functionality.
- Google Sheets API if the user enables sheet integration.
- Billing and subscription service providers for optional paid features.
Retention and user controls
Queue and dedupe data are managed inside the extension and are intended to be limited rather
than unbounded. Privacy-related controls in the extension can clear local workflow state,
and retention-related settings can be adjusted from the dashboard where available.
